الإنفاق على التسلح في المنطقة العربية .. لماذا؟

خلال الحرب الباردة كانت عملية التسلح والانفاق العسكري يتم تبريرها بطبيعة الصراع بين القطبين العظيمين آنذاك. وهو ما كان العامل الأساس في تاجيج حدة الصراع والقضايا ذات الصلة بتلك الحرب.
لكن وبعد مرور ما يقرب من العشرين عاماً على انتهاء الحرب الباردة لا تزال الكثير من دول العالم تشهد تسابقاً محموماً على الانفاق العسكري والتسلح حتى عد التنافس العسكري على التسلح حرباً باردة جديدة في العديد من اقاليم العالم، ليس بسبب من تداعياتها المتعددة وانعكاساتها السلبية وكلفها الباهظة على اقتصاديات دول العالم فحسب بل وكذلك لتنامي معدلاتها ومستوياتها وسعي العديد من الدول لتبني المشاريع النووية سواء (التقنية أو الحيازة) وهو ما ادخل قضية التسلح والانفاق العسكري في ابعاد جديدة في طبيعة العلاقات والتفاعلات الدولية والاقليمية.
ولم تكن المنطقة العربية بمعزل عن دول العالم في تسابق معظم دولها للانفاق العسكري المتنوع، الامر الذي يطرح علينا العديد من التساؤلات حول مغزى وحقيقة هذا الانفاق العسكري المتزايد ومسارات مستقبله وانعكاسه على مجمل تفاعلات البيئة الإقليمية.
والعراق كباقي الدول العربية قد شهد تنامياً في توجهه للانفاق العسكري وبشتى الصعد والمستويات من حيث التسلح والتدريب والتي اثارت العديد من علامات الاستفهام حول مدى الفائدة المتوخاة منها وهو ما يطرح أيضا التساؤلات حول طبيعة العلاقة بين تزايد الانفاق العسكري وسياسات القوى الكبرى في المنطقة.
