ثلاثة مليارات دولار لبناء شبكة سكك حديدية حول بغداد

قالت وزارة النقل العراقية أنها ستدعو شركات أجنبية لبناء شبكة سكك حديدية حول بغداد بتكلفة ثلاثة مليارات دولار بهدف تحسين خطوط الشحن ونقل الركاب المحلية والإقليمية. ويعاني العراق من بنية تحتية متداعية بعد عقود من الحرب والعقوبات والتراجع الاقتصادي لكن الدولة تأمل أن تمكنها احتياطيات النفط الغنية من الازدهار بعد أن بدأ العنف الطائفي الذي فجره الغزو الأميركي للبلاد عام 2003 ينحسر. وقالت الشركة العامة للسكك الحديد العراقية إنها ستعلن في غضون أسبوع مشروعا لإحياء خطة تعود إلى ثمانينيات القرن الماضي لبناء خط سكك حديدية حول بغداد ومحطتي ركاب رئيسيتين. وقالت أن المشروع سيستغرق أربع سنوات.
